Philippine’s Most Wanted Swindler Arrested

 September 10, 2021- QUEZON CITY.

Police authorities of the Quezon City Police, Kamuning Station, were able to arrest one of the Philippine’s most wanted swindler. Chryshainna Balinag Barrientos (alias Shaila B. Singson, Chryshainna B. Singson) 30 years old, female, 5’1 in height, and then residing at South Triangle, Quezon City, was arrested with a warrant issued by the Municipal Trial Court of Olongapo City, Zambales, Branch 3, Third Judicial Region, under Presiding Judge Tomas Eduardo Buenafe Maddela III, for three (3) counts of Estafa or Swindling under Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by P.D. 1689.

Complainants allege that accused Barrientos, pretending to be a wine entrepreneur, a businesswoman, and a daughter of Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson, used deceit and false pretenses to execute fraud among them and that they have relied on such fraud and schemes to transfer thousands of money and properties to her.

Reports were also received by police authorities from several complainants that accused Barrientos, using a fictitious name, employed a modus or scheme whereby she pretended to be a legitimate renter of condominium units, apartments, or residential spaces. Using a fake international bank account, she made it appear to these property owners that she already sent advance rental payments but in reality, no money transfer was wired, even after several days, as it was only a dummy account. Items from the properties have also been reported as missing or stolen after she left the premises of these units.  Accused Barrientos allegedly used several fake or fictitious names and IDs to perpetuate this scheme and in order to conceal that she is a fugitive from justice.

Reports were also received that she allegedly fled while waiting for her case to be called in one of her hearings in a separate Estafa case then pending at the Municipal Trial Court of Baguio City, First Judicial Region, Branch 3.

Accused Barrientos has yet to face some of the several charges against her under Philippine laws. #estafa #swindler #scammer #Philippinelaws #reportersnotebook #criminallaw
